Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to join our team at the Butterkist popcorn factory in Pontefract.

As a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and maintenance engineering service to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our production facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintenance of production and ancillary equipment, property, and facilities to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with production plans.
  • Create and maintain accurate maintenance records, including PPM schedules and data entry records.
  • Act as host for contractors working on site, ensuring safe working practices and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Respond to requests from production for engineering assistance and monitor visual management boards to ensure flagged items are addressed.
  • Work with production teams to improve their knowledge of equipment and ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Follow policies and procedures in conjunction with the food quality management system and retailer-specific technical standards.
  • Play an active part in health and safety, identifying hazards and risks, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Mechanical or electrical experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
