Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in Ashford, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning and behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement tailored strategies to address individual students' needs.
  • Offer small group interventions and one-on-one support to facilitate academic and social development.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive behavior and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and professional reference checks.
