Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEMH

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Ashford. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement tailored strategies to address individual students' needs.
  • Offer one-on-one support and small group interventions to facilitate academic and social development.
  • Promote a positive and nurturing atmosphere, fostering emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Act as a mentor and role model, encouraging positive behavior and social skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is beneficial but not essential.
  • Understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning and behavior.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
