Cardiac Catheter Lab Staff Nurse Opportunity

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cardiac Catheter Lab Staff Nurse to join our team at the Royal Brompton Hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with the cath lab manager and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development as part of the ward team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as scrub and circulating nurse in all Adult and Paediatric Interventional Cardiology procedures
  • Participate in the on call rota
  • Act as a care team leader ensuring the needs of the patients are met
  • Responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of all staff by acting as a mentor with the support of their senior colleagues
  • Take part in the on –call / out of hours rota on a regular basis
  • Carry out all relevant forms of care with direct supervision and demonstrate procedures, supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment
About the Role

The Royal Brompton Hospital invasive cardiology suites are comprised of 5 cardiac catheter labs, and a hybrid theatre, providing you the opportunity to work at the forefront of cardiac research & treatment. You will be responsible for a full range of diagnostic & interventional procedures for paediatric and adult patients with congenital heart disease, including diagnostic cardiac angiography, device implants, and other hybrid procedures.

  • Experience in Cardiac Catheter Lab procedures
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work on call and out of hours
