About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Deputy Commercial Finance Manager to join our finance team at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of our financial strategy and ensuring the effective management of our finances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the finance and procurement teams, providing expert advice and support to our mental health, learning disability, and autism services.
  • Support the development of the financial strategy for the Trust, ensuring alignment with our Big Ambitions.
  • Deputise for the Executive Director of Finance internally and externally, representing the Trust at senior levels.
  • Deliver effective finance and procurement functions, ensuring compliance with all necessary accounting standards.
  • Lead on regular risk assessments on the financial health of the Trust, informing strategic decisions by the Board of Directors.
  • Provide expert knowledge of accounting procedures, legislation, and the financial impact of NHS policy and external guidance.
  • Interpret, assess, and advise on the implications of changes in complex financial guidance and policy.
  • Develop and maintain the non-finance staff training strategy, promoting improved financial awareness and competency across the organisation.
  • Ensure a sound system of internal financial control is in operation, meeting Trust and audit requirements.
