Job Opportunity: Special Needs Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. The successful candidate will work closely with students who require support in various areas, including moderate learning difficulties and associated behaviours.

This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a Psychology, Criminology, or Social Science degree to apply their skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals and contribute to the development of students' skills and abilities.

The School:

This school serves up to 150 children aged 4-19 who require specialized support to thrive. The school has a Therapy Department consisting of Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists, providing a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in providing a tailored learning experience for students
  • Provide behaviour and pastoral support to students
  • Build strong relationships with students and colleagues
  • Employ practical approaches to meet individual student needs
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be a caring and compassionate listener
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with students
  • Maintain student safeguarding
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development

Salary: £85-90 per day, PAYE, term time only. We offer on-site training, support, and continuous professional development to ensure the safeguarding of all students.
