As a Funding Innovation Specialist at Lifelancer, you will play a key role in helping businesses secure grant funding for innovative projects. With extensive experience of all principal national and European funding programmes, our team of consultants have helped numerous start-ups, established SMEs, large enterprises, and universities across various research disciplines and sectors to identify and secure grant funding for the development of innovative products, processes, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Qualify clients' ideas for alignment to available UK national and European funding programmes, and proactively scan new grant opportunities for strategic projects across a range of industry sectors including ICT, energy, environment, transport, chemistry, biotechnology, and health.
  • Conduct primary research including market analysis and literature/patent searches to qualify the competitive landscape and true innovation of a particular idea.
  • Prepare high-quality grant applications for clients, including innovation project scoping, compilation of information required for submission, and writing of the grant proposal covering all aspects of information required by a grantor body.
  • Develop relationships with clients to prepare documents for the grant agreement, reports, and claims to comply with the Grantor body requirements.

Requirements:

  • A scientific university degree, Masters, and/or PhD are essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of the innovation funding landscape, with recent experience of Innovate UK and/or Horizon Europe is critical (i.e., 1-2 years experience in strategic consultancy or technology transfer role).
  • Attributes such as flexible teamwork, creativity, hands-on approach, entrepreneurship, ambition, go-getting, professional communication, drive, and energy are necessary for success in this position.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for preparing high-quality grant applications and developing strong client relationships.
  • Affinity with commercial account management and networking skills would be beneficial.
