About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a Clinical Lead in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the PICU team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to national standards.
  • Develop and maintain clinical standards for the service, working closely with the Unit Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective care and support to patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with Trust and national guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Mental Health with a formal teaching and assessing course.
  • Significant experience in an acute in-patient setting, managing emergencies and working in PICU.
  • Completion of the Trust's Preceptorship Programme.
  • Excellent clinical supervisory skills and a good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Care Programme Approach, and NICE guidelines.
