About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate PMLD Teacher to join one of its exceptional client schools in Waltham Forest. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and care to students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the diverse needs of students with PMLD.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with other professionals.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and social skills.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to support the holistic development of students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with PMLD or similar complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN best practices and teaching strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patient, empathetic, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
