Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to contribute to the development of effective and safe manufacturing processes for packaging and labeling products that meet our quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in packaging engineering and be able to provide creative and innovative package ideas for new product development. They will work closely with manufacturing and Quality Assurance personnel to minimize rework and provide packaging engineering assistance to support the success of final printed materials.

  1. Proven ability to successfully complete projects on time.
  2. Develop new/revised product bills of materials, assembly instructions, and verification reports of testing and assessment completed.
  3. Resolve dieline and/or materials quality issues and provide input and recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
  4. Supervise or conduct materials testing and create completion reports.
  5. Work with suppliers of packaging materials and/or contract-packaging vendors to obtain price/cost estimates, sample/material needs, and design requirements.
  6. Improve the quality, stability, and consistency of packaging & labeling materials with new and/or improved processes and equipment.
  7. Work with outside/inside suppliers to design, implement, and troubleshoot processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency and quality.
  8. Maintain awareness of relevant technology and material qualities.

Requirements: College degree in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent years of experience as a supporting PE in the medical device & diagnostics packaging & labeling industry. Proficiency in workflow software, MS Word, and MS Excel. Working knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus.
