Engineering Team Manager

At our Bo'ness site, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Manager to lead our engineering shift team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, prioritizing, and allocating ad-hoc reactive engineering tasks, ensuring that planned tasks are carried out to the correct standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machine controls and PLCs, as well as practical mechanical and electrical experience within a production environment, ideally in food manufacturing. They will be able to motivate and direct their team to optimize plant availability and manage technical specifications for ingredients, products, processes, and packaging.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for implementing agreed training and development plans to meet engineering and production needs, including ownership of the dynamic risk assessment process. They will ensure that engineering downtime is minimized, accurately logged, and monitor the repair time, liaising with the planning and operations team to allow for PPM to be completed in a timely manner.

The role requires excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate with Production Shift Managers, Senior Production/Engineering Managers, and relevant Production Team Leaders regarding current breakdown status, impact, and lead time to resolution. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining standards of hygiene and good housekeeping appropriate to a quality food manufacturer.
