About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Solution Architect to join our team at Kainos. As a Data Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing and delivering contemporary data solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple teams in the design and delivery of data-intensive applications, including orchestration and operation.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of data technologies, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, presentation, and consumption.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Manage and estimate timelines for solution delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Contribute to the development of data architecture standards and best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all data solutions.
  • Manage and develop a small team of staff, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading multiple teams as a Data Solution Architect, with ownership of a system of systems.
  • Experience in designing, building, and productionizing modern data-intensive applications, including orchestration and operation.
  • Deep knowledge of data technologies, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, presentation, and consumption.
  • Strategic design thinking experience, including problem conceptualization, approach and roadmap definition, architecture realization, and risk management.
  • Comfortable with traditional and contemporary data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience in deploying data-processing platforms from vendors such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks.
  • Comfortable in one or more of Java, Scala, or Python, with the ability to be 'hands on' when required.
  • Proven ability in managing, coaching, and developing members of your team and wider community.
