The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to assist our Skipton Site EHS Manager in implementing new and amended health and safety policies, procedures, and standards across the site. The successful candidate will work closely with the EHS Coordinator to develop and continually improve site processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the rollout of Group Health and Safety Policies and Procedures at site level, including COSHH, Engineering, and Process Safety.
  • Manage, maintain, and develop site safety procedures and standards.
  • Develop and organize EHS documentation and processes in preparation for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
  • Carry out regular safety training and maintain matrices across all departments.
  • Provide regular performance reports to the EHS Manager to determine weekly/monthly progress on the annual safety strategy.
  • Work alongside health and safety representatives to develop and coach departmental safety on site and enhance site safety culture.
  • Assist in driving environmental improvement activities to reduce the site's environmental impact on air, water, and land.
  • Support day-to-day H&S and Facilities activities as required.

Requirements

  • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma or a degree from an OHS discipline.
  • ISO 14001 and 45001 Internal Auditor training.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Target-driven.
  • Quality-minded.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience in carrying out risk assessments.
  • Thorough understanding of COSHH Regulations and best practice.
  • Fundamental knowledge of UK H&S Legislation and HSE Regulations.
  • Practical experience in an operational environment required.

Due to the nature of our business, all successful candidates must complete a basic DBS check before employment can commence, and at regular intervals during employment. We will pay for this check.
