About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Head of Accounting Services to join our finance team. As a senior finance professional, you will play a key role in supporting the Deputy Head of the Core Accounting Team in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the accounting ledger and month-end/year-end accounts.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in process improvement project management, with a proven track record of career advancement and achievement. They will be able to work flexibly around key reporting milestones and travel between sites as required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Deputy Head of the Core Accounting Team in ensuring the integrity of all accounting entries transacted into the accounting ledger.
- Manage financial controls, audit processes, and support year-end financial processes, including liaison with external auditors.
- Project manage process improvement agenda, streamlining areas of work and automating manual tasks to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience in financial operations, preferably within the NHS.
- Proven track record of process improvement and project management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 per annum.
