Job Title: Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill newborns and their families.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct advanced health assessments and develop individualized care plans for neonates.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to plan and transfer neonates to appropriate units.
  • Manage neonates requiring respiratory support and provide education to nursing and midwifery staff.
  • Prescribe medications for neonates as a non-medical prescriber.
  • Facilitate change and evaluate care to improve outcomes for neonates and their families.

Person Specification:
  • RN/RM/RSCN qualification and registration with the NMC.
  • A19/MSc Health Sciences or equivalent.
  • ENB405/904 or equivalent.
  • Non-medical prescriber registration.
Knowledge and Training:
  • Evidence of audit and research in neonatal care.
  • Evidence of contribution to publications, presentations, and meetings.
Experience:
  • Clinical experience in advanced health assessment and independent management of patients.
  • Clinical experience demonstrating clinical ability in enhanced procedures, assessment, and sound clinical decision-making.
  • Awareness of current research and developments in neonatal care.
  • Good clinical practice and confidence in own professional ability.
  • Skilled practitioner who acts as a role model.
  • Delivery of emergency care in neonatal units.
  • Experience of supporting and developing staff and clinical supervision.
  • Evidence of professional development.
  • Able to fulfill the requirements of the role.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering teaching sessions to multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to support others and work collaboratively.
