We are a reputable and independent all-day café/restaurant, operating on a daytime-only schedule. Our business model is centered around serving high-quality, fresh, and seasonal produce, made in-house, along with excellent coffee and a variety of tray bakes and pastries.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Sous Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in café/brunch experience, including plant-based dishes, and be able to work effectively in a small kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the kitchen and ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation and service.
- Develop and implement new menu ideas, taking into account customer preferences and dietary requirements.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock control to minimize waste and optimize resources.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food safety and hygiene practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
