Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Support Assistant to join our team in a leading Secondary school in Tower Hamlets. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support small groups of students and work on a 1:1 basis to develop their social, emotional and mental health skills.
  • Work closely with qualified SEMH professionals, Specialist Teachers and Educational Psychologists to provide a comprehensive support service.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to students with anxiety and/or depression, helping them to build resilience and confidence.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
Requirements
  • A minimum First-Class Psychology-related degree from a Top 20 University.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff and parents.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • A strong understanding of child development and the ability to adapt to the needs of students with varying abilities.
