Adult Social Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Care Professional to support our fostering team.

About the Role:

The Supervising Link Worker is responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people within quality family placements. This role involves assessing and supporting foster carers, ensuring compliance with National Minimum Standards, and facilitating the successful matching of children with appropriate foster families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Recruitment and Support: Conduct thorough assessments of potential foster carers and provide ongoing support to ensure they meet the required standards.
  2. Form F Assessments: Present Form F assessments to the fostering panel within agreed timelines, ensuring compliance with National Minimum Standards.
  3. Compliance: Ensure all fostering households meet the required standards, including health and safety recommendations.
  4. Child Welfare: Monitor carers' suitability and competence to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  5. Support: Provide regular support to carers, including telephone calls and home visits.
  6. Safeguarding: Report any incidents, allegations, or suspicions of a Safeguarding Children nature to the Registered Manager and the child's social worker.
  7. Risk Assessments: Complete and monitor risk assessments for foster households.
  8. Collaboration: Work in partnership with all stakeholders involved in a child's plan.
  9. Direct Work: Undertake direct tasks with children or carers as appropriate.
  10. Contact: Promote the child's need for contact as assessed and agreed.
  11. Diversity and Equality: Ensure services provided to children are appropriate to their specific needs and promote diversity and equality.
  12. Case Files: Maintain accurate and comprehensive case files for children and carers.
  13. Safeguarding Procedures: Comply with all Safeguarding procedures.
  14. Professional Development: Participate in training and development activities.
  15. Service Development: Contribute to future service developments and quality assurance systems.
  16. Monitoring: Produce key monitoring information.
  17. Equal Opportunities: Comply with equal opportunities policies and procedures.
  18. Marketing: Promote the fostering service to Local Authorities.
  19. Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety recommendations are implemented and the safety of all children is protected.
