About the Role

This Support Worker will play a crucial role in providing direct support to individuals, assisting them with daily living activities and personal care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or individuals with special educational needs and possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to individuals, assisting them with daily living activities and personal care
  • Educate clients on various life skills, promoting independence and confidence
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care
  • Engage in toddler care when necessary, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment
  • Work collaboratively with individuals with autism, understanding their unique needs and preferences
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records of client interactions and developments
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education and support work
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children or individuals with special educational needs is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and their families
  • A background in toddler care or experience in early childhood education is beneficial
  • Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and strategies for effective support is preferred
  • Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated and able to work independently
  • A compassionate attitude towards helping others and a commitment to promoting their well-being
