About the Role

VSA is a leading social care charity providing vital support and services to individuals and communities in Aberdeen. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at our Westerton Crescent Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Quality Care: Contribute to the provision of high-quality services to meet the needs of service users, adhering to VSA standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with individuals, accessing and updating records in accordance with guidelines.
  • Ensure Safety and Wellbeing: Help provide a safe and protective environment by complying with health, safety, and security procedures, including medication, and reporting accidents/incidents when necessary.
  • Support Daily Living: Support service users in their daily living, providing personal care where necessary, and promoting well-being, choice, and dignity.
  • Develop Social Networks: Assist service users in developing and maintaining social networks and relationships.
  • Encourage Independence: Assist and encourage service users to develop skills and knowledge to live as independently as possible, with reference to the risk assessment process.
  • Participate in Personal Plans: Participate in the development, implementation, and review of personal plans with service users.
  • Support Life Changes: Support service users appropriately when they experience a significant life change or loss.
  • Continuing Professional Development: Develop one's knowledge and practice continuously through participation in training and development activities.
Requirements
  • SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare: Must be willing to undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) if not already held.
  • Full Training Provided: Any prior experience welcome, but full on-the-job training will be provided.
