About the Role:
Devereux Chambers is a leading set of Chambers with 57 barristers, including 12 KCs, supported by an experienced and enthusiastic team of clerks and business services staff. We are known for our friendly workplace culture and professional work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- General clerking and administration duties on behalf of an appointed team of barristers, as directed by a Practice Manager.
- Advising solicitors on the availability of counsel, diary management, fee negotiation, and liaising with court staff to obtain listings and fix hearing dates.
- Logging receipt of papers and arranging conferences.
- Ensuring the smooth running of their appointed team of barristers, liaising on a regular basis with clerking colleagues, reporting to their Practice Manager, and working closely with all members and support staff.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 GSCE's at A-C (or equivalent).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- A focused and proactive approach.
- Articulate and client-friendly.
