Consultant Neurologist with a Specialist Interest in Epilepsy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Neurologist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a specialist interest in Epilepsy and will be responsible for delivering high-quality neurology services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver neurology services in the region, including general neurology clinics and subspecialty clinics
- Provide sub-specialty expertise in Epilepsy and motor neurone disease
- Contribute to the delivery of teaching and training to students at Nottingham University Medical School
- Contribute to the teaching, training, and supervision of Specialist Trainees in Neurology
- Participate in the Multi-disciplinary handover meeting
- Contribute to the provision of Hyper-Acute Neurology Unit (HANU) services
- Full GMC Registration
- Eligible to be included on the specialist register (or CCT expected within 6 months)
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent CCT/CESR or European Right to Work
- Four years training in neurology at SpR/ST level or equivalent
- Evidenced clinical skills as described in the job description
- Able to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, their families, and other health professionals
- Further higher training or qualification MD or PhD
- Higher Professional Degree SCE
- Development of subspecialty interest to compliment the department
- Specific Training in Communication Skills
- Specific training in patient safety and/or human factors
- Higher Management Degree or Qualification or Training
- Experience of Change Management
- Original Research Publications
- Higher teaching degree or qualification or training
The post-holder will be expected to work flexibly in changing health service, including changes made necessary by response to Covid-19. The successful candidate will be required to use Trust's IT support systems.
