Job Title: Early Years Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Highland Council.

Job Purpose:

To work as an effective member of a team, delivering a high-quality early learning and childcare service that meets the needs of young children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a flexible and high-quality early learning and childcare service
  • Work as an effective member of a team to meet the needs of young children and their families
  • Hold a recognised qualification in Childcare and Education (e.g. HNC/NNEB/SVQ 3) or be willing to work towards one
  • Register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or agree to apply to register as a practitioner
  • Hold a relevant SSSC registration or agree to apply to register as a practitioner
Requirements:

Unqualified workers employed as Early Years Practitioner-unqualified will be required to work towards one of the above awards within an agreed timescale and will be paid on grade HC.

Qualifications in Food Handling and First Aid would be advantageous.
