Embark on a challenging role as a Data Scientist within the Risk Analytics Insight and Data (RAID) team at Aviva plc. As part of this dynamic team, you will work closely with experts in Risk to identify opportunities for data-led projects that support the Senior Risk Leadership's objectives.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented Data Scientist to join our team and contribute to delivering data science and analytical insights across both General Insurance and Life entities. You will collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that drive business growth and enhance decision-making.
Your responsibilities will include working on diverse projects ranging from one-off investigations to building persistent tools. You will be expected to produce high-quality code, communicate complex findings to senior audiences, and ensure effective project governance. Your expertise will be valued in ideation, data sourcing, data engineering, application, and validation of analytical techniques.
Key Skills and Qualifications- Highly numerate and educated to degree or postgraduate level in Mathematics, Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
- Programming language experience in languages such as R, Python, SQL, or similar, with knowledge of software development tools like Git.
- Creative problem-solving skills with knowledge of applying modelling techniques to complex problems.
