Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Digital Build Engineer to join our team in Oxford on the Ellison Institute of Technology project.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineer looking to expand their skillset within the digital construction field.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the project delivery team to define and agree upon the Digital Build Scope, including assigning tasks to design partners.
  • Review third-party design packages for compatibility with the Digital Build model, ensuring dependencies are identified and documented in Information Required Schedules (IRS).
  • Create 3D models of both permanent and temporary works structures according to the agreed Digital Build scope.
  • Input Digital Build metadata into modeled elements and manage third-party metadata requirements.
  • Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) and BIMCollab issues stemming from Digital Build and Digital Review processes, addressing relevant design partners.
  • Issue coordinated and complete model data for on-site setting out. Models will be utilized for quantification exercises and shared on Trimble Connect for trades to use during construction.
  • Prepare pre-execution pack issue Solibri check reports for inclusion in Precast Detailing Execution packs delivered to the Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC).
  • Ensure project access to a federated Digital Build Model, updated at least every two weeks.
  • Contribute actively to Digital Build review meetings attended by Project Technical Leads, Project Engineers, DfMA Engineer, PTS Lead, Detailing Lead, and Lead Digital Engineer.
Requirements: Qualifications (preferred)
  • Pursuing a Degree in an Engineering discipline (Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering), or another construction-related field.
  • Working towards an industry-recognized BIM specific accreditation or structured training, or Chartership.
Experience
  • Some experience working within the construction industry, interacting with trades and/or Design Consultants.
  • Demonstrated understanding of common construction methods.
  • Ability to provide guidance to Technicians and Students.
