Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Twinnie Day Nursery. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for our young children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programme Development: Contribute to the creation of a planned programme of activities tailored to the age range of our children, in collaboration with other staff members.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of key children's progress via our nursery app and note journal, as necessary.
  • Integration and Support: Work closely with parents and carers of children with special needs to ensure seamless integration within our setting.
  • Staff Support and Standards: Support all staff members in upholding our high standards and adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Safeguarding: Strive to safeguard children by adhering to our organisation's safeguarding Code of Conduct.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaise with and support parents, carers, and other family members.
  • Professional Development: Attend all out-of-hours activities, including training, staff meetings, parents' evenings, and other events.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification that is full and relevant.
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a day nursery setting.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrate excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and current Ofsted statutory guidance. Showcase knowledge and practical experience of implementing high-quality learning opportunities.
Personal Qualities and Skills
  • Empathy and Understanding: Display empathy and understanding of children aged 0-5.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent verbal and communication skills when interacting with children and parents.
  • Administrative and IT Skills: Demonstrate ability to write reports and maintain clear, accurate records.
  • Organisational and Time Management Skills: Showcase excellent organisational skills, administrative abilities, and basic IT skills.
  • Teamwork and Initiative: Demonstrate a calm and caring nature, with a reliable and time-conscious approach. Ability to work as part of a team and work independently when necessary.
