Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the VAT team on all areas of VAT advice, providing technical guidance and support to clients across the South East.
  • Conduct technical research on a breadth of topics, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and sharing knowledge with the wider tax team.
  • Draft reports and letters of advice for a wide range of clients and industries, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Liaise with clients and attend meetings, building strong relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Develop business opportunities through marketing and identifying areas of growth, driving revenue and expanding the client base.
  • Manage and develop team members, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth and development.
Advisory Exposure:
  • Lead topical advisory matters for clients across the practice, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Advise businesses on VAT-efficient structuring of their affairs, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Advise on VAT considerations for international trade, helping clients navigate complex regulations and requirements.
  • Implement partial exemption special schemes, ensuring accurate and compliant VAT treatment.
  • Provide ad-hoc advice on a wide range of VAT matters for the firm's diverse client base.
Requirements:
  • Significant experience providing VAT advice in a practice environment, either in-house or at HMRC.
  • Broad exposure to most areas of UK VAT, with a working knowledge of EU VAT requirements as they apply to UK businesses.
  • ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent qualification, or qualified by experience.
