We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at YHA. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our Youth Hostels and grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out repairs and maintenance to fixtures and fittings, including planned and reactive work.
- Support the hostel team in delivering an excellent customer experience by ensuring all areas are well-maintained.
- Paint and decorate bedrooms and public areas, including mixing paints, matching colours, and preparing surfaces.
- Coordinate larger cyclical maintenance projects with our central property team and hostel manager.
- Perform basic repairs, plumbing repairs, and other tasks as required.
- Experience of painting and decorating is essential for this role.
- City and Guilds NVQ2 in Maintenance Operations or equivalent is desirable.
- Proven experience of repair and maintenance duties and tasks.
- Ability to work safely and complete risk assessments.
- Basic understanding of electrical safety and plumbing.
- Competent decorating skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to read and understand instructions.
- Good attention to detail and strong time management skills.
- Ability to adhere to health and safety guidelines.
