Commodities Modelling Lead

Millennium Management is a leading global hedge fund that leverages cutting-edge technology and data science to drive innovation and solve complex problems. We are building a strong Quant Technology team to develop and maintain in-house analytics and trader support tools, and we are seeking a skilled Commodities Modelling Lead to join our Fixed Income & Commodities Technology (FICT) group.

About the Role

The Commodities Modelling Lead will be responsible for building data science-inspired models for forecasting commodities fundamentals, including power and natural gas demand, production capacities, inventory levels, and other relevant variables. This role will involve overseeing and mentoring junior fundamentals analysts and collaborating with the Quant Technology team to develop and maintain in-house pricing libraries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data science models for forecasting commodities fundamentals
  • Oversee and mentor junior fundamentals analysts
  • Collaborate with the Quant Technology team to develop and maintain in-house pricing libraries
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with modelling commodities fundamentals
  • Intimate knowledge of handling, cleaning, and organizing data
  • Practical knowledge of Python and associated tool stack for data science
  • Previous experience leading/supervising a team beneficial
