**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodities Modelling Lead to join our Fixed Income & Commodities Technology (FICT) group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building data science-inspired models for forecasting commodities fundamentals, such as power and natural gas demand, production capacities, inventory levels, and other relevant variables.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Develop and maintain statistical and causal models for forecasting commodities fundamentals, including regressions, time series analysis, and supply-demand balancing models.
  • Oversee and mentor junior fundamentals analysts to ensure the delivery of high-quality models and analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models and analysis into our trading and risk management processes.

**Requirements**

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in modelling commodities fundamentals, with a strong understanding of European power and gas, US power and gas, global oil, or ags and softs markets.
  • Intimate knowledge of handling, cleaning, and organizing data, including familiarity with data sources and providers for temperature, load, rainfall, and other related inputs.
  • Practical knowledge of Python and associated tool stacks for data science, including experience with data visualization and machine learning techniques.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a team is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of valuation, pricing, and derivatives models is a plus, but not required.
