Behavioural Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Mentor to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who present with challenging behaviour, providing individualised support and guidance to help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead sports sessions at break and lunchtimes to promote physical activity and teamwork
- Provide one-to-one support to children in class, helping them to overcome behavioural challenges
- Use sports as a tool to mentor children, promoting positive relationships and behaviour
- De-escalate situations where children exhibit extreme behaviours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
- Lead academic interventions with children working below age-expected levels, helping them to catch up and succeed
- Liaise with the class teacher and school SENCO to monitor progress and develop effective support strategies
- Holds a sports-based qualification
- Has had TeamTeach or MAPA training (desirable but not essential)
- Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviours
- Understanding of supporting SEN pupils
- Ability to inspire pupils to reach their full potential
