Principal Software Engineer

A highly skilled Principal Software Engineer is required to lead a high performing software engineering department.

The company is expanding and needs an experienced Software Engineering Lead to play a key role in leading the delivery of key customer facing software products.

The ideal candidate will engage and lead experienced internal software engineers, utilising modern technology to create and deliver applications used by a massive customer base.

The company offers flexible hybrid working options with 3 days at one of their offices in London, Hampshire, or Berkshire areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Influence technical direction across a range of Software products
  • Implement and improve software engineering practices - SOLID principles, etc
  • Play a key role in steering product delivery working with associated teams
  • Write high quality code in a PERN environment
  • Following Shift left processes

Key Experience:

  • A passion for using modern technology to create effective customer facing software products
  • Experience in leading Agile teams or projects within Marketplace, or similar environments
  • A strong background in software engineering and hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node
  • Experience in technical decision making and Event Driven or Microservices architecture
  • Well versed with modern cloud platforms with a preference for GCP and AWS

Applicants should have a strong background in software engineering and be able to lead a high performing software engineering team.
