Role Overview

This role presents an exciting opportunity to accelerate the adoption and advancement of human-centred approaches for AI system design and safety assurance, with a focus on healthcare as a priority sector.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work on both research and industry-facing projects, collaborating with regulators and other stakeholders in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on the use of AI in healthcare, with a focus on human-centred design and safety assurance
  • Develop and evaluate human-centred approaches for AI system design and safety assurance
  • Collaborate with industry and regulatory partners to advance the adoption of human-centred AI safety
  • Contribute to the development of safety cases and safety arguments for AI systems
  • Work as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary team to advance human-centred AI safety

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Safety, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or a related field
  • Experience of researching AI in healthcare and human-centred design
  • Competency in conducting human factors studies and developing safety cases
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
