Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced EHC Plan Writer to join our team on a full-time locum basis. As an EHC Plan Writer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Local Authority and its partners in meeting their statutory duties related to the assessment, placement, and monitoring of pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a designated caseload to ensure the Local Authority and its partners meet their statutory duties in relation to SEN and disabilities.
  • Act as a key worker, explaining processes to parents, settings, and other colleagues as needed.
  • Respond to SEND-related inquiries from schools and the general public.
  • Ensure a firm understanding of community assets and resources, convening the right support for young people and families.
  • Work creatively and innovatively to develop new approaches to service delivery.
  • Use principles of a strengths-based approach to have different conversations with children and young people, helping them make a difference in their lives.
  • Identify achievable and creative skills, focusing on strengths, hopes, and dreams, ensuring these are clearly demonstrated in Education, Health, and Care/SEND Plans.
  • Ensure compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and the requirements of the Information Commissioner's office.
