About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EHC Plan Writer to join our team at Wigan Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and developing Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans that meet their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of children and young people with SEN and develop EHC plans that meet their individual needs
  • Work closely with schools, settings, and other stakeholders to ensure that EHC plans are implemented effectively
  • Provide support and guidance to parents and carers to help them understand the EHC planning process
  • Convene the right support for young people and families, working creatively and innovatively to develop new approaches to service delivery
  • Ensure that EHC plans are compliant with the European General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and meet the requirements of the Information Commissioner's office

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification (NVQ or previous experience)
  • Knowledge of legislation relating to SEND
  • Proven experience of working with children and young people
