Head of Harvesting Support:

Forestry and Land Scotland is dedicated to sustainable forest management, and this role plays a vital part in achieving our goals. The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight and technical support to our Regional Delivery teams, focusing on increasing the efficiency of our timber harvesting machinery fleet and developing strategic initiatives, including a harvesting data repository and analysis.

Key responsibilities include ensuring relevant service contracts are in place, maintaining FSC and PEFC certification standards, and advising staff on service contracts, timber sales contracts, and timber harvesting operations. This is a core part of our commitment to sustainable forest management, providing the majority of our operating income.

To succeed in this role, you will require experience in timber harvesting, timber sales, procurement, and contract management, as well as pre-felling timber crop surveys. If you have a passion for forestry and a drive to deliver results, we encourage you to apply.
