About the Role

The post-holder will be working with the rest of the team at Beechwood Medical Centre, a forward-thinking, training practice that provides opportunities for professional growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the clinical team, answering telephone calls, and liaising with patients and other clinicians.

Main Responsibilities

  • To provide administrative support to the clinical team, including secretarial duties, data entry, and other tasks as required.
  • To answer telephone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide information on practice services.
  • To book, change, and cancel appointments for patients in line with current arrangements.
  • To deal with post, tasks, scanning of letters, and other duties as requested by the Practice Operations Manager, Business Manager, or Partners.
  • To maintain accurate records, including minutes and agendas from clinical and non-clinical meetings.
  • To prepare reports for third-party organizations.
  • To participate in team meetings and contribute to improving the service.
  • To assist with the management of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QoF).

Person Specification

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with the general public.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of working in general practice/healthcare.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Clear, polite telephone manner.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Effective time management (planning and organizing).
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
