We are seeking a talented Research Associate to join our team working on the Harnessing mega-constellations to probe space weather globally project.

About the Project:

This project is focused on harnessing the power of satellite mega-constellations to advance our understanding of space weather and improve operational capabilities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct original research on the potential of satellite mega-constellations for space weather monitoring.
  • Develop and test methods for analyzing mega-constellation data using Imperial's global magnetospheric simulations.
  • Apply these methods to real-world data from Eutelsat OneWeb's Gen1 mega-constellation.

About You:

  • PhD in space physics or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in solar wind – magnetosphere - ionosphere interaction.
  • Experience with satellite observations, computer simulations, or theoretical analysis.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
