Humanities Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Humanities Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our team at a well-regarded secondary school in Wilmslow. This is a full-time position, starting in October and running until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of Humanities subjects, ensuring that students of all abilities remain challenged and motivated.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, particularly those who may be struggling with specific topics or coursework.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills, helping them to engage more deeply with Humanities content.
- Offer targeted intervention sessions to students preparing for their GCSE exams in Humanities subjects, helping them revise key topics and improve exam techniques.
- Assist with the creation and implementation of lesson plans, learning materials, and classroom resources that cater to different learning styles and needs.
- Help to manage classroom behavior, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment for all students.
- Work closely with teachers to identify students requiring additional support, tailoring interventions to meet their specific academic needs.
- Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to both students and teachers to ensure consistent improvement.
- Support with school-wide activities and projects related to the Humanities, such as field trips, research projects, and other extra-curricular opportunities.
- Provide pastoral support to students, building strong relationships and helping them to overcome any challenges they may face in their academic journey.
- A degree in a Humanities-related subject such as History, Geography, Politics, or Religious Studies.
- A strong passion for the Humanities and a desire to inspire students to explore these subjects in depth.
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a classroom or educational support role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and simplify complex topics.
- A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to adapt to the needs of the department and students.
- An interest in pursuing a career in education or teaching would be advantageous.
- Competitive weekly pay between £419.25 and £500, depending on qualifications and experience.
