Key Responsibilities
  • Manage technical work, whether leading groups of people or projects

Engineering DisciplinesMechanical Engineering

Mechanical design and manufacturing is at the heart of most Labman projects. Mechanical engineers use Solidworks to design and simulate solutions. Projects include various mechanical components such as bearings, transmission components, vibration isolation, fixings, and pneumatic systems.

Electrical/Electronic Engineering

All Labman systems are built to relevant EU and ISO standards. Graduates are expected to become familiar with relevant directives, legislations, and standards. Labman designs and develops their own microcontroller PCBs for various applications.

Software Engineering

Software development in Labman is performed with C# using an object-oriented structure. User interfaces are developed using Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Graduates are expected to become familiar with these technologies and standards.

Requirements
  • Good engineering degree in a relevant discipline
  • Intrinsic interest and intuitive understanding of engineering, underpinned by academic theoretical knowledge base
  • Good A-Level in maths and preferably another science A-Level
