Job Summary

ASA Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective financial management of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Advice: Provide strategic financial support to our clients, ensuring they manage their financial resources effectively.
  • Budget Preparation and Monitoring: Assist with capital and revenue budget processes, offering crucial support to our clients' management teams.
  • Financial Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on financial performance to drive efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
  • Corporate Finance Services: Support corporate finance functions, including tax management, year-end accounts, treasury management, and asset management.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of up to 10 staff members, ensuring high standards of performance and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
    • Proven experience in providing financial advice and preparing and monitoring budgets within a complex organization.
    • Experience in presenting financial information to senior managers.
    • Experience in the preparation and monitoring of complex budgets.
    • Proficiency in using MS Office, particularly Excel.
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Involvement in the preparation of annual accounts.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Enthusiasm, motivation, and the ability to advise, guide, and motivate others.
    • Strong negotiation, facilitation, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work unsupervised.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a large team.
    • Ability to travel between various work locations to meet operational requirements.
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in preparing information and reporting on financial performance.
    • Experience using Oracle Financials and Discoverer.
    • Awareness of VAT issues affecting Local Government.

Education and Professional Qualifications:

  • CCAB qualified accountant.
  • Continuing professional development (CPD) that meets the requirements of the relevant professional body.
