Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Educational Leader to join our team as a Curriculum Leader for Access and Achievement (SENCo). This role requires a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who can lead the development of inclusive practice for students with Special Educational Needs (SEND) and drive outstanding progress.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the academy's SEND policy, ensuring early identification of need and a whole-school graduated approach. They will also work closely with the Quality of Education team to develop excellent teaching and curriculum development for all pupils, supporting the delivery of outstanding progress for students with SEND.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of inclusive practice for students with SEND, driving outstanding progress and achievement.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with SEND, ensuring they receive tailored support and accommodations.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of SEND support into daily lessons and activities.
Requirements
  • A National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinator or similar qualification is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from those working towards a qualification or keen to undertake this training.
  • Proven experience in leading SEN teams and developing inclusive practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and develop effective strategies to drive progress.
