Job Title: Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Rydon Maintenance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our quantity surveying team, you will play a crucial role in managing costs for our responsive and planned housing maintenance and repairs contracts.

Job Purpose:

Working closely with our experienced quantity surveyors, you will assist in obtaining and evaluating cost information from each of our Housing Repairs contracts. Your primary objective will be to ensure a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services is achieved.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize the NHF Schedule of Rates to identify cost anomalies in both directly delivered and subcontracted works.
  • Ensure timely purchasing and negotiating Sub Contract, Material, and Plant orders.
  • Verify that Subcontract, Plant, and Material orders pass down all risks where possible in relation to the Main Contract and are inclusive of all necessary Health and Safety information.
  • Ensure Subcontractors and Suppliers are approved and meet company standards prior to procurement.
  • Paying and monitoring Subcontractor progress.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience gained within a housing maintenance environment, preferably with SOR (Schedule of Rates) experience. Strong MS Office packages experience and excellent communication skills are also essential.
