Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Interim Legal Counsel to join our Legal team on a 12-month maternity cover fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will provide general advice on legal issues across the business, including investment funds, contractual arrangements, and regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Legal team, Risk & Compliance, and other departments on matters related to investment funds, contractual arrangements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support on our US business and private fund range.
  • Review contracts and provide legal advice to ensure business requirements are met.
  • Obtain advice from external advisers as necessary and liaise with internal departments.
  • Assist the business in complying with regulatory requirements, working closely with the Risk & Compliance Department.
  • Provide legal support on ad hoc projects as required.
  • Assist the Legal Department in maintaining and growing its know-how and precedent base.
Requirements
  • Financial services experience, ideally within the asset management team of a leading City or local law firm.
  • Strong working knowledge of UCITS, AIFMD, and MiFID.
  • Practical experience of working in and across international markets, including those in which Jupiter has a presence.
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and negotiating skills.
  • Proven ability to manage relationships with internal partners and external providers.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong team player with a flexible and positive approach.
  • Strong computer and technical skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience of working in an in-house environment, whether on secondment or otherwise.
  • Experience and knowledge of the FCA Handbook.
  • A general understanding of the US regulatory environment as relevant to investment funds and asset managers.

  • This role is subject to the Conduct Rules set by the FCA.
