We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatry Consultant to join our team at the Stonebow Unit in Hereford. As a dynamic and motivated professional, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mental health services to patients on mixed general adult wards.

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to approximately 12 patients on Mortimer Ward. You will also support the Crisis Team on a weekly basis and be part of an on-call rota with other consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver ECT and other mental health services to patients on mixed general adult wards.
  • Support the Crisis Team on a weekly basis.
  • Participate in on-call rotas with other consultants.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A strong understanding of the NHS and its policies.
  • Proven experience in providing high-quality mental health services as a trainee or consultant.
  • An MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • MRC Psych (or equivalent) and approval under Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act.
  • Qualification or previous training in leadership.
