About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Raw Materials Technologist to join our team at Pilgrims Europe. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and compliance of our raw materials.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for requesting, approving and maintaining ingredient specifications and suppliers' certifications, including packaging information. They will also risk assess raw materials and packaging items prior to final approval and put in place controls and monitors as required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Request, approve and maintain ingredient specifications and suppliers' certifications, ensuring information contained is complete and compliant with customer requirements, relevant legislation and group policy.
  2. Risk assess raw materials and packaging items prior to final approval and implement controls and monitors as necessary.
  3. Accurately populate and maintain the Central Spec System with all relevant raw material data and certifications, ensuring specifications are approved in line with critical path requirements.

  • Fitness Level: Highly Demanding
  • Fundamental Requirements: Food-related qualification or experience in a similar role
  • Computer Literacy: Familiarity with Excel & Word, comfortable using computer systems
  • Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Workload Organisation: Ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail
