Senior Planner Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to play a key role in the success of the Euston Project. As a seasoned professional, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the overall time plan for the project, ensuring timely completion and effective management of resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a robust and realistic integrated master schedule, highlighting critical milestones and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with the project delivery team to clarify and maintain the visibility of programme interface requirements and dependencies.
  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reports to the Project SLT, offering a timely overview of programme time performance and recommending actions to mitigate potential time over-runs.
  • Develop and present forecasts of anticipated milestone achievements, using EVA techniques to measure trends and maintain an up-to-date view of the expected completion date.
  • Offer advice and guidance to the project delivery team in reviewing and challenging sub-contractors' programmes.
  • Ensure adequate time provision is included in individual project schedules to allow for overall Programme integration.
  • Manage the time contingency built into the Programme for programme level risks, ensuring contingency allowances reflect the current programme position.
  • Establish Programme level commissioning and testing schedules, taking account of project interfaces and planned completion schedules.
  • Ensure consistency of planning techniques and the use of common WBS at all levels of the project.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of construction techniques, methods, and durations.
  • Strong understanding of techniques for project planning, control, and other facets of project control.
  • Expert knowledge of Primavera and similar planning software.
  • Strong knowledge of integrated project planning.
  • Expert knowledge of EVA techniques.
  • Ability to use schedule risk modelling software such as Pertmaster.
  • Relevant experience of project planning.
  • Significant past experience of large projects.
  • MAPM or formal PM/Project controls qualification.
  • Experience in the railway environment.
Behavioural Competencies
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to "deep dive" into planning.
  • Comfortable presenting at senior level.
  • Able to present facts clearly and simply.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with others to develop integrated programmes.
  • Ability to mentor and train subordinate staff.
