Brief Description
This role provides comprehensive Track asset management and engineering support services to the Wessex Head of Asset (Track) and delivery units.
About the Role
- Provide systems engineering input to determine appropriate maintenance regimes and activity volumes for Track assets.
- Offer comprehensive system engineering support across the Track asset base throughout the route and across delivery units as needed.
- Deliver technical briefings associated with Track systems engineering to engineers in delivery units.
- Review and make recommendations on derogation and non-compliance applications related to Track systems engineering standards.
- Monitor the progression of potential improvements to Track systems from delivery units.
- Conduct asset condition inspections to inform the Track asset condition database and renewals work bank.
- Provide advice and guidance to delivery units and other asset engineers in producing prioritized business-focused Track systems renewal proposals.
- Participate in and lead Track engineering activities in support assurance processes.
- Monitor the reliability and performance of Track systems-related assets across the route.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of route asset management plans.
- Assist in reviewing and accepting engineering project designs as needed.
Essential
- Incorporated Engineer
- Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent
- Membership of relevant professional institutions
- Substantial Track engineering experience
- A detailed understanding of maintaining Track assets
- A sound knowledge of relevant technical, safety, and performance standards
- Holds relevant professional licenses and technical qualifications or capable of achieving within reasonable timescales
- Holds a valid UK driving license or is eligible and willing to obtain
- Chartered engineer
- Understanding and experience of railway infrastructure maintenance
- Experience in undertaking engineering assurance activities, including competence assessment
