About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Exercise nurse prescribing responsibilities within the boundaries of registration for FEP holding an independent nurse prescribing qualification.
  • Provide care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care under the direction and supervision of a consultant psychiatrist.
  • Demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in the Royal Glamorgan Hospital (RGH) and the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) within Princess of Wales Hospital (POWH) supervised by the consultant psychiatrist and RC for the individual patient.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Adult Mental Health Service, Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), and other allied agencies.
Person Specification
  • Current NMC first-level nurse registration.
  • Knowledge of local and national health policy.
  • Knowledge of the wider health economy.
