Head of English

A prestigious independent school in Westminster is seeking an experienced Head of English to lead their thriving department.

About the Role:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the English department, developing and implementing a comprehensive and innovative curriculum.
  • Lead and inspire a team of dedicated English teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of a dynamic and enriching English curriculum that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and a deep appreciation for language and literature.
  • Encourage and support students to achieve high standards in English, fostering a love of reading, writing, and communication.
  • Effectively manage the department's resources, ensuring the provision of high-quality teaching materials and learning technologies.

About You:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a genuine passion for English education.
  • Demonstrate successful leadership experience in an English department or similar setting.
  • Possess a strong understanding of English language, literature, and pedagogy, with experience teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Be a highly motivated and inspiring leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, students, and parents to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

What We Offer:
